Stuffed Green Peppers
Beef and rice stuffed into sweet green peppers, simmered in a rich tomato sauce.
For over 40 years, Bev's Restaurant has served Terre Haute honest, from-scratch cooking — real mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, and meringue pies baked fresh every morning.
Bev's opened its doors in 1980, and the same family has been cooking behind the counter ever since. There are no shortcuts here — the mashed potatoes are real, the noodles are rolled by hand, and every pie is baked fresh in our own kitchen.
It's the kind of place where the coffee is always hot, the servers know the regulars by name, and a stranger passing through I-70 leaves feeling like family. As one guest put it, it's "as close to home cooking as you can get without staying home and cooking it yourself."
Comfort-food classics, cooked the old-fashioned way and piled high. Here are the dishes our regulars order again and again.
